Pu’er Sustainable Forest Management Demonstration and Training Base launched officially in July 27, 2021

With the joint efforts of APFNet, Forestry and Grassland Administration of Yunnan Province and Southwest Forestry University, Pu’er Sustainable Forest Management Demonstration and Training Base was officially launched in Pu’er City, Yunnan province on July 27, 2021.


Mr. Zhao Shucong (Chairman of the Board of Directors of APFNet), Mr. Peng Youdong (Vice Minister of National Forestry and Grassland Administration), Mr. Wan Yong (Director General of Forestry and Grassland Administration of Yunnan Province), and Liu Yong (Mayor of Pu’er City) attended the launching ceremony.


The demonstration and training base will focus on showcasing the best practices in sustainable forest management, and also offer an international exchange platform for sustainable forest management, forestry scientific research, information exchange and policy dialogue, forestry training, natural education and forest experience in the Greater Mekong Sub-region and other regions in Asia-Pacific.


After the launch ceremony, a series of activities were held at the Pu’er Sustainable Forest Management Demonstration and Training Base. Such as the workshops on Greater Mekong Sub-region on forestry cooperation, carbon neutralization and forest carbon sequestration measurement training, seminar on how forest management policy is translated into practice in China, events supporting the creation and exhibition of eco-culture, and forest experience and environmental education event for students.
